Grief, Healing, and Finding Sanctuary (Clay workshop + Free Story Medicine)

Dear Reader

Last week, the first edition of the Terrapy Retreat took place, which was a great succes! An unique blend of self-discovery, community, nature, rest and amazing food! We dove deep into learning about ourselves through the lens of the polyvagal theory, release of Pohaku (Hawaiian for the 'stone that is bothering us') with traditional Ho’oponopono practice, and practicing introspective yoga. We grounded ourselves, quite literally, by putting our hands and feet into the earth. We foraged for edible plants, fermented food, and Chantal took us on a journey through the eye of a Bee Guardian (while discovering a beautiful natural Bee Hive on the land). A truly inspirational journey that tastes like more.....

Prepare with Clay and Story Medicine

Autumn is for the preparing of the darker nights of winter, as the wind howls, we are letting go, we harvest, and embracing deeper layers within. For this season I created very beautiful offerings with and for us — the community, the Circle.

I’d like to invite you to two upcoming offerings that explore this theme of healing through creative expression and inner exploration. In times of transition, whether through loss or personal change, grief can be both a burden and a gateway to healing. When we allow ourselves to feel deeply and explore the layers of our pain, we create space for something new—a sanctuary within ourselves.

1. Conscious Clay: Building your Sanctuary (limited space)
Join me and my friend Sietske in person in The Hague for a hands-on therapeutic clay workshop where we will each create our own sanctuary (17-20 cm) to take home (a week later, after it's baked). This workshop centers around grief — whether it’s grief from loss or the grief that comes with life's transitions. You can build it for yourself, or someone else who is grieving as a gift!

We will gather in a circle, work mindfully with the clay, and close with a shared cup of soup. It’s a space to honor our emotions, connect, and heal through creative expression and the earth (clay) herself. Limited space, don't wait with booking.

Date: October 19, 2024 from 09.30 - 13.30
Location: The Hague
Language: Dutch & English

2. Story Medicine: A Free Online Exploration of Our Inner Parts
I am also offering a free one-week online program called "Story Medicine," where we will explore our internal parts using the Internal Family Systems (IFS) approach. Through storytelling and self-awareness, this program helps us understand the layers of ourselves — how our inner parts hold wisdom, and how connecting with them can lead us toward deeper healing.

This journey is for anyone ready to explore their inner landscape, honor their experiences, and begin to heal from within. It’s a space for transformation, and I invite you to join this healing community as we take the first steps together. If you joined last year, please join again! It's renewed, new prompts, new designs and new energy!

Date: October 20 – October 27 (Free Online Program)
Language: English & Dutch (the program is in English, feel free to write comments to me in Dutch, I'll reply in Dutch too)

We often turn away from our pain, but when we face it with compassion, healing begins. These offerings are both opportunities to gently explore your grief, connect with your inner parts, and build a new relationship with yourself (and each other!)

We're living in crazy times, and so this season I focus on stabilizing, more intimacy in presence which can also be a bit painful — is why there is more focus on community care, grief, sadness, and also more awareness to the release of dissociation and stuckness.

You are not alone.

The sensitives and mystical ones (incl who are often labelled in the broad spectrum of hsp, autism, ad(h)d and psychosis) and the wounded healer, the silenced activist and the artist that is stuck, are finding their ways home and I am here creating a circle of care and support. I am in the middle of building of something, I hope I can show it next time!

Let's meet in the Clay workshop and/ or at least in the online Story Medicine program.

With love and healing,

Terrapy | The Original Medicines

Guided by mother nature, I support others — especially (wounded) healers — unravelling complexity and developing pathways towards wholeness and connection. My strength is connecting applied yoga philosophy and psychological tools to work with the body and mind for optimal (mental) health. In addition to seeing people in one-on-one and group therapy sessions, me and my team educate all who care — including doctors and other healthcare professionals to create an ecosystem of sustainable solutions for health and wellness, using yoga. Navigating psychiatry for 25 years as RN and being a pioneer in The Netherlands and Europe as a yoga therapist (C-IAYT), I now amplify transformation in this field by connecting with others who are willing to open-up to explore and experience a wider spectrum of possibilities in the field of healing and health. https://www.instagram.com/annekesips/ https://annekesips.com/

email update | Nov 11, 2025 | #33 Hey there, It took me a moment to let go of summer, but now I'm embracing the change. I find myself organizing, completing projects, and bringing clarity to different areas of my life — and loving every bit of it. As I sit on my veranda, the wind plays with my hair while birds chirp in the tree above and the gentle September sun warms my face. How are you navigating this seasonal transition, Reader? I'm making two exciting changes: Podcast and the Care Circle...

email update | Nov 11, 2025 | #33 Dear Reader Throughout my years working in Amsterdam’s acute psychiatry and crisis wards, I encountered countless individuals facing their darkest moments. I also experienced personal crises that shook me to my core. From these experiences, one conclusion became painfully clear: Crisis is here to teach us something. Yet, despite this truth, many of us find ourselves wanting to run from it, fight it, or avoid it. As we learn through the lens of Polyvagal...

email update | Nov 11, 2025 | #33 Hi there, Yesterday, I wrote to you about the emotional whirlwind I’ve been in — saying goodbye to a friend who’s moving away, seeing my daughter head off on her first school trip, and navigating an intense day of crisis interventions in Amsterdam. And of course, there was that unexpected layer added by speed dating, where I was face-to-face with some of my inner parts in ways I didn’t expect. Today, Reader — I want to talk about something that has been...
